Let’s say a teacher lost a student’s paper and its nowhere to be found. Now you won't have to go through all that time looking for it because there's a new lovely companion called the “turn in” button. class assignments (CAPC). Once you set a due date, if one student is late, it will tell the student and teacher that th It's a lot easier for teachers and students to keep track of papers and other work because it’s online and in a folder (CAPC).

Teachers can do that with all of their classes, and so can students. In that case, a student can have science, english, and social studies online (STWI). Also teachers can see their students working in action online and they can send them help and feedback on a project and the students can respond (STWI). The teacher can take a screenshot and pick out details on what to work on. Also a big significance is that you can assign homework ande assignment is overdue (STWI). Another great thing about google classroom is that it’s free; there is absolutely no cost (CAPC). It makes it so you don't have to chop down as many trees for paper and it helps students become aware of the upcoming ways and tools for learning (Kyle Pace).

There are many good things about google classroom but there are some flaws in the program. Google is good at hands on, but here it lacks to regulate what can be sent to others classmates (Ronald). This makes it harder on the teachers, because the classroom allows only one person to manage the program (Google Sites). This also poses the problem for schools lacking the money to afford to replace or fix the program(google sites). Student also can have similar problems if there is no access to the internet (google sites). The program also prevents any without a google account from entering the classroom (google sites). This leads to another problem those without past experience with google will tend to have a harder time (google sites). This is caused by the programs layout, which is created for long time users. (google sites)The program also tends to take longer to update (google sites).

The program allows you to share with others, but the settings have to be set before you share (google sites). The sharing is great except you can't share folders (google sites). This isn’t as bad as the fact that special needs can’t use or understand the program (CAPC). Even though some kids are special needs face to face time is more helpful than Google Classroom (google sites). In order to make Classroom as effective as possible, Google has added their thread of Google Apps for Education or GAfE. Users can link due dates to assignments and copy and paste from google docs and other applications, too. Will Phan, a Google Classroom Software Engineer, was proud that Google Calendar finally joined the Classroom scene in August of 2015 (Phan).

Calendar now automatically adds any assignments with a due date to your calendar and gives users alerts when they need to be handed in. You can access Google Calendar in Drive to add assignments with no specific due dates (Phan). These assignments, more often than not, are linked to Google Docs, another application that Classroom included to its GAfE. Alice Keeler, a teacher at California State University Fresno, and author of ‘50 Things You Can Do With Google Classroom,’ enjoys that multiple students can share one paper on Docs (Alice Keeler, Teacher Tech).

Teachers have the ability to know the participation of each individual student. You can paste Documents into Classroom and add Google Slides, and Sheets to files (Keeler). These files would then link the assignment to the project in the applications that was “turned in.” Both Phan and Keeler enjoy the flexibility of Google Classroom and their willingness to integrate other apps into their program. According to their website, Google Classroom, “Helps teachers create & organize assignments quickly, provide feedback efficiently and communicate with their classes with ease,” (Classroom). The ability for Classrooms easy correspondence would be almost impossible to accomplish without the assistance of the other GAfE. Google Classroom has helped students communicate with teachers, link and share documents and create a paperless, safe learning environment.

Google has also helped students see just how relevant new technology is in our lives now. As electronic components become more advanced, students need to understand how to use it and how it will affect their lives in the work force. Everyday, more and more jobs are integrating with the internet. Basically all jobs are online nowadays. As we improve the technology we have and use it to our advantage in everyday scenarios, such as school, our lives become much easier.
